Constipation often occurs in people on pro ana diets, due to the fact that most people on these types of diets do not eat much food, but merely tend to drink more liquids than eat the right foods. People that do not eat foods rich in fiber or vitamins will at some point become constipated. There are pro ana tips for constipation available online, or either a personal physician can often recommend to a person what the best options are for treatment. Constipation can become chronic in people that are on pro ana diets, and can lead to serious illnesses.

The best solution to end constipation is to drink plenty of fluids, exercise, and include some fiber in foods eaten. Many people on the pro ana diet may be drinking fluids, but still not enough fluids which cause dehydration and the bowels to be blocked.

The larger intestine in the body does soak up all water from food waste when people are dehydrated, but when there is no food waste for the intestine to soak up, stools can become harder, making it more difficult to have a bowel movement. Drinking at least 6 to 8 glasses of water or liquid a day, will make stools softer, and make it easier to eliminate bowel.

For people on pro ana diets that only eat certain amounts of specific things in order to stick with their dieting plan, fruits that are rich in fiber are one of the best things to eat to avoid becoming constipated. Bananas, prunes, apples, raisins, figs, and other types of fruit will help constipation stay at a low minimum, or not occur at all. Pro ana dieters that only want to eat vegetables and drink liquids, also have a chance at avoiding severe constipation when they eat the right types of vegetables. Most vegetables are high in fiber, and if enough of them are eaten, constipation will be less likely to occur.

Foods that contain whole grains, such as different types of breads or cereals are a great asset to keeping constipation at a low rate when on a pro ana diet. Flax seed, barley, oatmeal, and other foods with whole grain ingredients should be worked into the diet gradually. People on pro ana diets should not consume too much alcohol, caffeine, dairy, or processed foods, and even though dieting is their priority, they should include foods or liquids that are recommended from recommended daily food servings.

When constipation persists and does not go away, a physician should be consulted for further types of treatment or dieting regimens. Too much constipation can lead to serious illness, hospitalization, or death, and people that do pro ana dieting should be advised of these issues before beginning any type of dieting. It may be necessary for a dietician to help with people that are dieting, and help them to know which foods are the best foods or drinks to consume. A dietician usually can guide dieters on what is best to drink or eat in order to avoid bouts of constipation.
